Kin Characters

The Kin is a group of female channelers that help runaways from the White Tower. None of these women are currently Aes Sedai (though some are retired or exiles), but most have trained in the Tower & their group keeps some similar rules.
Rank among the Kin is determined by age, not strength in the power. The thirteen oldest comprise the Knitting Circle and are the ruling body of the Kin. Because the Kin do not use the Oath Rod they live significantly longer lives than Aes Sedai bound by the rod.
Currently the existance of The Kin is known by the White Tower only in that there are "some wilders out in Ebou Dar who help us" but certainly not by their true numbers or location. Upcoming story arcs will have The Kin become a much more active part in the fight against the Dark One
